"Cultural Market"
Designed in collaboration with Allison Howard and Georgia Fernandes
This cultural market mimics the striation of Marinella di Selinunte on the coast of Sicily and situates three distinct zones along a primary axis. The central road terminates in the sea, framing the view of the adriatic just like the residential streets which flank the site. Not only does this scheme transition from residential density to waterfront, but the formal language makes a transition as well. Moving from completely tectonic and framed construction down to stereotomic masses of stone where it intersects with the sea establishes a trifecta of market typologies.
